Beta Tester Policy
Beta Tester Policy
This policy applies to everyone in the Video Planner public beta and private beta. By joining or applying, you agree to it, along with our Community Guidelines, Terms and Privacy policy.
1. Who can join
- Any creator account in good standing can join the public beta from My account → Beta programme.
- The private beta is by application, and our team approves each one.
- Your Discord must stay linked in My account, and you must stay in our Discord server, so your bug reports reach us quickly.
- Unlinking Discord or leaving the server takes you out of the beta. Public testers can rejoin once they're back; private testers must apply again.
- Testers get the Beta Tester role on our Discord, plus a Public beta or Private beta role for that tier's bug-report channel.
- Brand logins can't join the beta.
2. What "beta" means
- Beta and private beta features are unfinished. They may change, break, lose data or be removed without notice. Keep your own copy of anything important.
- Joining the beta doesn't change your plan, price or limits, and beta features may later need a paid plan.
- Being a beta tester doesn't give you access to our source code. Testing means using features early on the site, not seeing how they're built.
- Taking part is voluntary and unpaid. There's no guaranteed access to any feature, or for any length of time.
3. Private beta is confidential
- Don't share screenshots, videos, streams, recordings or descriptions of private beta features anywhere outside our private beta channels until they're released.
- Don't give anyone else access to your account to see them.
- Public beta features are fine to talk about, show and stream.
4. Reporting bugs
Normal bugs: post them in the beta bug-report channel for your tier on Discord (the "Report a bug" button in My account takes you there). Please include:
- what you did, what you expected, and what happened instead
- screenshots or a short clip
- your browser and device
High-severity and security bugs: never post these publicly, not in Discord channels, comments, videos or streams.
Open a private ticket on our Discord, or email [email protected], straight away.
High-severity means anything that could let someone:
- see, change or delete another account's data
- get past sign-in, permissions, plan limits or the beta stages
- run code, inject content into pages, or upload harmful files
- expose keys, passwords, tokens or encrypted data
- crash the site or take it down for others
Share the details only in the ticket or email, and give us reasonable time to fix it before telling anyone else.
Not a beta tester? If you've found a problem, please still tell us: email [email protected], open a ticket on our Discord, or use the contact form. Security issues should always be reported privately, never in public channels.
5. Testing safely
- Test only with your own account and data. Never access, change or delete anyone else's, even to prove a point.
- No floods, mass sign-ups, heavy automated scanning, or anything else that slows the site down or spams other people or our team.
- Stop as soon as you've shown a problem exists, and don't keep or share any data you came across.
- If you report a problem in good faith and follow these rules, we won't take action against you. With your permission, we'll credit you in the Hall of thanks on our How Video Planner is made page.
6. Your feedback
Your ideas, suggestions and bug reports help shape Video Planner. By sending them, you agree we may use them to improve the platform, without owing anything for it. Your own content (scripts, plans, notes and files) always stays yours.
7. Removal and restrictions
We may remove anyone from the beta at any time, for example for breaking this policy or leaking private beta features. Depending on what happened, breaking these rules can also lead to:
- a warning or strike under our Community Guidelines
- a Public beta restriction, which removes you from the public beta and stops you rejoining it
- a Whole beta programme restriction, which removes you from both betas and stops you rejoining or applying
You'll see the reason in My account. You can leave the beta whenever you like in My account → Beta programme.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the beta grows. We'll post changes here and in our Discord, and keeping using the beta after a change means you accept it.
